UIDAI, the authority which is responsible for developing the Aadhar cards in India has launched a new app on the Google Play Store. The new app is available for all the Android devices and the app is called as the mAadhar app. The mAadhar app will be available for the people who are currently having an Aadhar card. The mAadhar app is a way to have the Aadhar card at the fingertips of users so that they don’t have to carry the physical card, as well as the mAadhar card, has some security provisions as well so that the Aadhar information on the smartphone is safely kept.

As far as the details of the mAadhar app are concerned, the users already holding an Aadhar card can have their personal information such as the Name, Date of Birth, Gender & Address along with photograph as linked with their Aadhaar Number. As far as the security of this information is concerned, the mAadhar app has some security measures with features like Biometric locking/unlocking, Time-based One-Time Password generation, Sharing of QR code and eKYC data besides Aadhaar profile download. Talking about the size of the app, the mAadhar app has a size of 10.80MB on the Google Play Store and the app is very easy to use as well.

Talking about the steps needed to be done to use the app, the user has to setup a password whenever the app is first opened. After that, you need to enter your 12-digit Aadhar card number in the app. Once the Aadhar number is entered, the app will send an OTP to the mobile number registered with your Aadhar card and the One time password has to be entered by you in the mAadhar app. Once the verification is completed, you will see your Aadhar card information in the app. One thing to note in particular is that you should not download any unofficial apps available on the Google Play Store.
