Nokia has announced that the Nokia 5 smartphone which was launched in India by the company will go on sale in India starting tomorrow, August 15. The smartphone will be the second in the Nokia lineup to go on sale in the offline markets in the country after the Nokia 3 which was launched June for Rs. 9499. Talking about the sale of the Nokia 5, the smartphone will be available in the offline markets at a price of Rs. 12,499. Nokia had already announced that the Nokia 3 and 5 will be available in offline markets in the country whereas the higher-priced Nokia 6 smartphone will be an online-exclusive and will be sold via Amazon India.
Talking about the specifications of the Nokia 5, the smartphone comes with a 5.2-inch display on the front that offers HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution. It also comes protected by Corning Gorilla Glass on the front. Apart from that, the smartphone is powered by a 1.4 GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 430 processor and the smartphone comes with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. Also, the smartphone has a MicroSD card slot through which the storage on the phone can be expandable up to 128GB. In terms of camera, the smartphone comes with a 13MP sensor on the rear with f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, and dual tone LED flash. On the front is an 8MP autofocus camera with f/2.0 aperture and 84-degree wide-angle lens. The smartphone has a 3,000mAh non-removable battery and runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat.
Nokia is also offering some offers on the launch day for the Nokia 5 which also happens to be the Indian Independence Day. Some of the offers include 5GB of 4G data for three months on Vodafone for just Rs. 149 per month. The smartphone will be available in various color options: Matte Black, Silver, Tempered Blue and Copper color. However, at launch, the Nokia 5 is only made available in the Matte Black option.
