OnePlus has recently released the latest flagship smartphone from the company, the OnePlus 5. Earlier, the company had launched the OnePlus 2 smartphone in 2015 which was the flagship smartphone for OnePlus. Now, OnePlus has already confirmed that the OnePlus 2 users will not get the official update to Android Nougat on their phones. However, the OnePlus 2 is getting updates for the bugs that are present on the phone as well as the latest security patches released by Google. Now, the OnePlus 2 is getting a new update with OxygenOS 3.6.0 which brings the June security patch update to the phone which was released by Google last month.
Talking about the update, the OnePlus 2 users will get the update as an OTA to their phones. As mentioned earlier, the update comes with the June security patch. Apart from that, the OxygenOS update will also update timezone to GMT+3 in Turkey. Also, the update includes bug fixes for the VoLTE issues for the OnePlus 2 users in India on the Reliance Jio network. Moreover, there is also a bug fix for bug present in the phone which led to the device not being able to automatically register on 4G networks.
Now, talking about the update from the company, the OnePlus moderator on the official forum has mentioned that the OTA update has been released for the OnePlus 2 for a small number of users currently. The full rollout of the OTA will be released in the coming days. As far as the update is concerned, the OTA will come to the device very soon but you can manually check for the updates by going to the device’s settings to check for the update manually. Also, make sure to download and install the update to your phone if it is available as the update comes with the June security patch which should improve your device’s security.
