Xiaomi has announced the latest smartphone in its Mi Max series of smartphones which is the series started by Xiaomi last year intended for productivity on smartphones as the smartphones come with big screen size and huge battery capacity. Xiaomi was teasing the launch of the Mi Max’s successor, the Xiaomi Mi Max 2. The smartphone has been announced today by the company in an event held in India. The company has also announced the pricing details of the smartphone and the availability details have also been revealed. The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 will be sold in India at a price of Rs. 16,999 and the smartphone will be first available via Mi.com from 20 July. Later on from July 27th, the device will be available across all the major offline and online stores in the country.
Coming to the specifications of the Mi Max 2, the smartphone comes with a 6.44-inch display that offers Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution at a pixel density of 342 PPI. The smartphone has a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection on the top. The smartphone is powered by a 64-bit Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor clocked at 2.0GHz and comes coupled with Adreno 506 GPU. It packs 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage variants. There is no MicroSD card slot for storage expansion. Apart from that, the smartphone has a 12MP Sony IMX386 sensor on the rear with PDAF and a large 1.25μm pixel size. Also, the Mi Max 2 has a 5MP front camera with wide-angle lens.
The highlighting feature on the Mi Max 2 apart from its screen size is the battery capacity on the smartphone. The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 has a massive 5,300mAh battery that is rated to give up to 18 hours of video playback or up to 57 hours of talk time. Now, the Mi Max 2 has an even bigger battery than the Mi Max which came with a 4,850mAh non-removable battery. On top of that, the smartphone has fast charging capabilities coming with Quick Charge 3.0 support.
